- Enjoy High-Volume Dove Shooting in SonoraThe best combination wingshooting in Mexico
Dove hunting in the fertile valleys surrounding Ciudad Obregón is among the finest in North America. With two distinct hunting periods, hunters can enjoy outstanding shooting opportunities from September through March.
Early Season: High-Volume Dove Shooting September 6 – October 30
The first phase of the season offers incredible high-volume shooting for Mourning and White-winged Doves, and in more recent years, Eurasian Collared Doves. Hunts take place over hundreds of thousands of acres of leased land encompassing grain fields, feedlots, and watering areas—all prime dove habitat. Hunting in both the morning and evening with a midday break, each location is carefully selected based on up-to-date scouting reports from experienced spotters to ensure hunters are placed where the action is best. Every hunter is supplied with a bird boy, a comfortable swivel chair, plenty of 12- or 20-gauge ammunition, and a cooler stocked with cold drinks—everything needed for an enjoyable and productive day afield.
Late Season: Combination Hunts
October 30 – March 6
The second hunting period offers a unique opportunity to combine dove hunting with ducks and often quail. Many hunters enjoy morning duck hunts followed by afternoon dove shoots in fields and near feed lots and water where birds congregate in large numbers. This later season remains high-volume, with excellent numbers of all three dove species. As always, hunts are conducted over expansive private lands, with skilled bird boys assisting each hunter. The combination of varied shooting, abundant birds, and comfortable field setups makes this one of the most rewarding wingshooting experiences anywhere.
